GIMSAR College and School of Nursing is a premier institute in the field of training nurses and attracts candidates for admission from all over the state of Odisha. It is recognised by the Odisha Nursing Council and affiliated to Utkal University. The College of Nursing, under the management of the Servants of People Society and The Samaja, it is a peerless organisation situated around 40 acres in the hinder land of Athagarh, at-Madhabpur, on a luxuriantverdantrecline on the river bank of the great river “Mahanadi”. Servants Of the People Society (SOPS) decided to establish an institution to permanently, definitely and categorically serve the poor patients and research work in Odisha.
In the year 2009, GIMSAR was established with entire medical facilities to care the poor & needy patients with a 24X7 ambulance facility; as a milestone in the year 2011, GIMSAR stepped ahead with the educational institution by initiation School and College of Nursing, which made a gateway to the poor students to perceive their higher studies.
GIMSAR College and School of Nursing GNM and ANM programme started 2011, B.Sc Nursing program started at 2022 and the Post Basic programme started at 2020.
GIMSAR multi-speciality hospital is our parent hospital. It is a 200-bed Multi- speciality Hospital. Included 50 ICU general Medicine, OBG, ENT, Dental, Pediatrics, and Critical care unit, along with MRI, CT, Digital Laboratory, Dialysis unit, and Ambulance service.
We have well qualified & experienced faculties, including HODs for all the specialities and well-equipped labs like the Foundations of Nursing lab, Nutrition lab, Community Health Nursing lab, Computer lab, MCH lab, Audio Visual Aids lab, Preclinical Science lab and Library with enough reading facilities. We have more than 3000 book collections and various national, international and online journals available in our library. Internet facilities for the students & staff are also available in our library & Computer lab.
The college has made tremendous progress both qualitatively and quantitatively, which is a result of hard and strenuous work and the spirit of dedication on the part of Management, teachers and students.
